Re: External HD vs. Thumb Drive vs. Casting
I solved my "play old digital files" problem by installing a server, a RAID enclosure and Plex Media Server. Now my Roku can steam stuff to the living room TV, any Android device with the Plex app or any computer with a web browser. That's hardly a practical solution, thought. You can get ...

Re: 14 E63S: reset wet clutch adaptations
Low speed engagement is definitely improved. WOT upshifts (1-2 specifically) might also be improved, though that could just have been temperature related?

Re: 1993 JCB 217S Turbo
I rebuilt a Garrett turbo on a Saab once. It came apart ok, which was helpful, probably due to decades of oil leaks. Internals look similar to the JCB unit. It has some number of miles on it now and is still working at least as well as the transmission. https://forums.kevinallenmoore.com/viewtopic.p...

Re: CLK550/E550 hunt for Adam
How convenient. This car would replace the E46. I've done a terrible job of posting about all the repairs I've done, as that car has been constantly broken since I got it. During the brief periods that it does work, it runs low 15s, but does actually drive fairly well, so there's that. Replacing a G...

Re: "New" Home Servere
No, it isn't compatible with Win 11 but I also refuse to go on the Linux bandwagon at home (mostly because it's not interesting to me). It doesn't have to be interesting, it just has to run/access the applications you want. Is O365 stuff supported? On the web, yes. Native, no. Some people say the a...

"New" Home Servere
I'm a big fan of re-purposing things or upgrading old things vs. buying new ones. For years I've been using old machines for other tasks or otherwise playing "trickle down electronics" when one component is upgraded on a machine. Up until recently, I've been using my old desktop (C2Q-based...
