Re: 2014 E63S: plugs and coils
Checking in before completion which may be bad luck. Removed driver's side coils and plugs. New plugs are installed and torqued. Funny thing about that bad luck. Turns out I did NOT install all driver's side plugs. I missed the third one back. I installed the coil but not the plug. Sent me on a whi...

Re: 2014 E63S: plugs and coils
It does want dielectric grease on the boots so they don't weld themselves to the plugs. Mine pulled out pretty easily (I had to use hose pliers and pry against the fuel rail but nothing broke and the popped free). Relevant torques: plugs are 17 lb-ft (Bosch box says so, and WIS agrees, though I did ...

2014 E63S: plugs and coils
Checking in before completion which may be bad luck. Removed driver's side coils and plugs. New plugs are installed and torqued. They indexed about the same as the Mercedes branded plugs did, seemingly beyond the 45 degree spec. But I'm not going to sand down washers. It's not tuned, it'll be fine. ...

Re: 14 E63S: forged wheel search
20240526_145403.jpg It's more aggressive and interesting. The factory S model wheels are more reserved and classy I suppose. More specifically, from the side angle like this, I do prefer the forged wheel. However, from an oblique angle, the original 10 spoke looks, like I said before, a little high...

Re: Mercedes E63S thread
Recentered myself. I did half a turn on the tie-rods and that was about right. It's SLIGHTLY off to the right (instead of to the left) but not worth another tweak. The driver's side jamb nut required heat to loosen. Actually I think I used heat on the right but it was definitely not squeaking like t...

Re: CLK550/E550 hunt for Adam
Things that would be left for Adam (aside from anything I didn't get to above): - Continue to investigate airbag module issues. Not sure if it would be as simple as an eBay module swap or what. The real concern is whether you have a functioning airbag system - you know, for safety. The light works ...

For the missing seal at the battery/HVAC partition wall, try these numbers to see if they look right:
A1708310098 - nope, looks like the cowl seal
A2036281298 - can't find on eBay for photo
A2036281098 - cable duct seal so it has cut outs for round things
