Corvair
Fiero
B-body (boxy and the whale bodies, look at a 94-96 SS compared to a 91 Caprice)
G-body
4th gen F-body (I think the LS1 cars look better than the LT1 cars)
C4 Corvette
Boxy D-body (I think the 90-92 Brougham looks better than the 80s ones)
I was thinking more about this. In every single case, the powertrains are also better in the later versions of ALL of my examples. Every single one. That has a big influence on my opinion of a particular body style or update. For example when I see the 80s looking Brougham, I KNOW it has a pretty lame engine. The later TBI 350 offering in the 90-92 had considerably more power and better drivability. Fiero 2.8. All the final 3.8 turbo stuff on the GN. LT1s on the b-body. LS1s on the F-body. LT1, LT5 and LT4 on the later C4s. Even, I am sure, the Corvair (turbo 180).

2006 CADILLAC STS-V,,SUPERCHARGED LOW MILES - $18500 (RI)

2006 cadillac sts-v
condition: excellent
cylinders: 8 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 46255
paint color: black
size: full-size
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
FOR SALE ONE OWNER 2006 CADILLAC STS-V WITH ONLY 46,000 MILES
V8 supercharged intercooled 469hp 439 plds torque 0-60 4.2 seconds,,13 second 1/4 mile
fully loaded every option navigation sunroof,,they only made 1501 of these cars and MSRP WAS $77,100
VERY CLEAN AND RUNS LIKE NEW,,selling for $18,500,,serious buyers please call or text show contact info
Fairly uncommon to find something this low mileage, and this clean overall (some buff marks in paint but it's black) locally. I am a little suspicious about this car. Mainly the ad text. It sounds like someone bought it to flip. I know it is registered but if this was owned by an actual enthusiast, I would expect a lot more text, not a bunch of classic sales pitch items ("runs like new" is a red flag). Says one owner but $100 says he was not the original owner. No one says "one owner" if they are the owner. They say "I bought this car new in 2005" or whatever.

Flipping in and of itself is not an issue. I just worry about more unscrupulous things like accident repairs (perhaps also undocumented), floods, etc. I don't know that this is bargain basement cheap for the mileage, but it's definitely on the low end for the mileage, at least based on what I know. I have done no recent market research. Point is, if it is a flip, then that means they have EVEN LESS into it than this price, which already seems good.

I see more than 1 Michelin and at least one Continental. Yeah, this car would need to be looked over very thoroughly, and obviously a Carfax for good measure.

It's just a little bit too...."if I picked this up for $14k I am sure I could flip it for $18k, it presents well, low mileage, all the classic things."

It just seems like a trap. I don't know that I'd call it a scam (it would be a scam at $5,000 or whatever) but it seems like the kind of thing that someone would be like "I can't believe it, I found this super clean, low mile STS-V, and it's local, and the price is actually reasonable" and then it just turns into a disaster. I'd rather pay less for a higher mileage example (with some pretty comprehensive history).

93 Z/28 with 30k miles for $5500. That 115 MPH speedo looks weird. I think they put this in the cars that were ordered with lower speed rated tires.

Yeah that is pretty sweet. The Vogue stuff actually looks right on the car. I wonder if that was a dealer option. I am shocked that car never had its wheels stolen, especially in Georgia. It also has the low output Northstar, and first year of Dexcool..........

This has some real Jalopnik fame potential unless it has already been posted.
2007 Chevy corvette Z06 - $19900 (Thomasville)

2007 chevy corvette
fuel: gas
odometer: 161777
title status: clean
transmission: manual
**REDUCED** for quick sale!! $$20,000$$ Selling my z06, 6spd, hardtop, leather, brand new tires with factory wheels that have no curb rash anywhere. The mileage is 161??? And may increase slightly weather permitting. The previous owner (NC Hwy patrol) had a new motor installed under warranty at capital Chevrolet in Raleigh at 80k. I purchased this car from the NC Hwy patrol with 152k I think, it was the first super car ever used in the United States by law enforcement and caused quite a stir on a national level with news stories everywhere, including the show top speed devoting a full episode to this car. The car was assigned to an undercover in Raleigh basically it’s whole life. I have done a New posi unit, new coils plugs wires probably 8-10 months ago, have paperwork. As I stated the tires are new so the tps sensors come on now,I’ve been told to bring it back so they can link them to computer. It has recently passed emissions inspection but the check engine light comes on occasionally and gives an evap code, but nothing changes in the way it runs or drives so I haven’t worried about it. The headlight lenses are very worn and need to be replaced. I’ll end up doing them if I don’t sell it now that I know the lenses can be replaced for a fraction of the cost and I’ll adjust my price according. The car has a few knicks and minor scratches but is a very nice car overall. This car runs like it should and will make you smile every time you push the pedal. Price is firm as you will not find an apples to apples z06 for this price anywhere. No test drives without cash in hand, otherwise I’ll do the driving. Not interested in any trades unless it a 25 grand NADA (retail ready automobile) or help selling my car. Email anytime, or Text message during hours of 10-8 pm only will be the agreed method of communication initially. “Bottom price “ and “still got it” phrases will be ignored and negotiations will be only in person with me looking at your cash to back it up. No dreamers please as I don’t have time to just chat about my car.
Good news! It got a new engine at 80k. Bad news! It now has 161k.....It could have updated valvesprings and lifters or whatever, which I guess would mean it is fine. Other question: GM honors the factory warranty when the state police own the vehicle?

GM: Was this vehicle abused at any point in its life?
Cops: It wasn't as long as there are no follow-up questions. Now make with the new engine.

But yeah that is one hell of a history. The idea of this thing driving around potentially baiting people into racing is pretty crazy. Curious about how this was actually used.

The Titleist hat in the trunk shot seems too perfectly placed not to be a joke...it's like [insert golf clubs here]

So is this like the cheapest C6 Z06 with a clear title? If it is not, then I don't know that this is a good buy, aside from the "interesting" history.
