Should be May 2021. Is that my STS-V timeline?

It's your something timeline. Just remember that expired sticker + CEL on = not worth much.

07-10 STS 4.6
Well that's fabulous.
I was 100% sure this was a lost cause. However, look what I found from a fellow member of the Cadillac Forums:
https://www.pcmperformance.com/
https://www.pcmperformance.com/programming.html

Cutting to the chase:
04-06
RWD Cadillac SRS/STS/XLR 4.6 LH2 (E22 ECM)
$475
Well I'll be damned. Now the price is high. A tune for the E67 is $275 so they do charge extra for the more rare ECMs, but that's totally fair. I have no idea what software they'd even use.

Point is, there is light at the end of the tunnel to "solve" this chronic P0430 for good. And maybe pick up a few ponies and mpg??

I guess there is another place called NorthStar Performance that is about to roll out something...somebody must have updated their software to cover this E22 ECM. Damn. I mean if it's something I can get my hands on then I would still consider that, too.

www.northstarperformance.com/tuning.php

I always thought there was performance left on the table here. This is pretty cool.
AVAILABLE NOW for 1993-1999 and 2006-2011 Northstars!!!

Please read the following carefully. Our custom tunes will give you the best of both worlds, performance -AND- fuel economy. How does this work? By carefully remapping the ignition timing and fuel curves of the engine, we're able to increase the operating efficiency of the engine. At idle, part throttle, and cruising speeds, the car will seem no different. But it will be using less fuel. If you get on the throttle and go to pass someone, or put the "pedal to the metal" when the light turns green, our tune will give the engine more fuel in addition to advanced ignition timing.

YOU CAN HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

We don't have exact horsepower numbers on every Northstar that we tune, but we have spent CONSIDERABLE time behind the wheel with scanning equipment, data logging, and driving. One customer dyno-tested our tune on a 1997 Cadillac Deville. The results were staggering. +45 horsepower measured at the wheels, and +40 ft lbs of torque. Isn't that incredible? The EXACT SAME TUNE on another 1997 Cadillac Deville had improved the owner's fuel economy by 4 miles per gallon!

Why should you buy a tune?

• improved fuel economy
• way better performance
• reduced emissions (based on less fuel consumed)
• more enjoyment of your Northstar

We are the ONLY company that can offer such in-depth tuning for these engines! Other companies out there will sell you chips and aftermarket gadgets that plug in to your OBD-II port. They DON'T WORK!! What we sell, is professional tuning that uses your existing engine controls that just makes it work the way YOU want it to.
Not listed yet though.
Tuning Prices:

All Performance PCMs we sell are $499 USD.

Sent this e-mail form inquiry to NP and a similar one to PCM Performance.
Good morning,

I am interested in your tune services for my 05 STS AWD Northstar, with the lovely Siemens/GM E22 ECM. I have come to understand that you are about to release support for this ECM. To that end, I have a couple of questions which shouldn’t be too difficult:
- Do you have any dyno results or ANY empirical results for the LH2 w/ E22? Talking power, drivability, MPG, anything I can sink my teeth into.
- Can you disable DTCs? I need to turn off P0430 and I guess I would also turn off P0420 just for completeness. I assume this is possible, but let me know.
- Can you say what software you are using to actually modify the E22 calibration? In-house? Just curious.
- Does any of this include TCM stuff or is TCM tuning even necessary? Thinking about torque management type stuff here.

Thanks,
-Kevin

My goals for a tune:
- Continued safe operation on 93 octane. That's all I use anyway. But I don't want it on the hairy edge of knock or something.
- Fix the lazy throttle tip-on off the line
- If enough WOT power could be added to close the gap with a 100 mph trap speed, that would really be something. Like 98-99 maybe?
- A few extra MPG would be wonderful as well
- Most importantly, turn off P0430 and P0420. I'd leave P0420 on because I think that cat is fine but what's the point?

I would most certainly pay the asking price to deliver all of these items. And frankly it might let me hold off on the STS-V thing for a few more years.

Got a response already:
Hi Kevin, we are working on it, just not up to the E22 yet. Got two others to get completed first. Hopefully this year sometime we will have that one sorted out as well.

Thank you,

Go on...
Couple things. First, NorthStar performance claimed 45 wheel hp on that 97 Deville. Wheel. That is a ridiculous amount.

Second, look what I found on the PCM Performance page:
00-03
Cadillac Deville, Eldorado, Seville (SLS/STS) 4.6 L37/LD8 / Oldsmobile Aurora 4.0 L47 (P06 SIEMENS SIMTEC PCM)
$475
Also a Siemens. So GM already had a relationship with Siemens before the LH2. I wonder why. Those later ones were tuned better for 87 octane I believe but not sure what else about the engine controls changed to necessitate getting outside help with the PCM.

I wish these guys would get back to me. They claim to already offer product for both of our cars. NP says Jenn's is coming soon. Mine is beyond that. I think I trust them a lot more but I just wanted to know what PCM Performance is even offering.

If you do not see your application listed, please send us an email inquiry with your VIN.
For DTCs, I guess I just agree that it is off-road only. Maybe I should have sent my VIN. I will reply with the VIN and see if that does anything. It will be a week from tomorrow.

I wonder if it would be worth spending even more to just buy a whole ECM and have my stock one on hand, rather than send it in. That's getting really pricey but could be worth it? Looks like I can get an ECM for $125 on Car-part.com. It will need VIN programming - hopefully that's all it needs and hopefully I don't need to use the laptop interface to do that since I don't have that rigged up with the Tech 2 yet.

I see prices as low as $100 on eBay so not totally insane. Not sure if I would just buy my own from there, send it to him to modify and use that on my car? Would be nice to discuss options...

$200
Allison Gen 4 TCM **

$250
Allison T87 TCM
2015+ 6.6TD Duramax LML pickups
$250
* ½ price or free when programmed together with ECM, email your request for more info.
I noticed he does offer a TCM tune for $200 but there is a note that says it is 1/2 price or free with ECM tune. At $475 for an ECM tune that certainly would be nice but I am not sure what he is actually claiming it would do. I don't really have any issue with the TCM programming and aside from letting the LH2 wind out a little more I don't see what I would do with this.

I sent a follow-up with my VIN and summarized my questions. If he can't communicate with me, I'm not sending him $475. It's that easy. Besides, I probably should wait for NorthStar Performance anyway.
