Riviera Body Mounts

It's pronounced "chassy." Brakes, suspension...things that make the car fun or a death trap

Car is on Criagslist.

Some guy has offered me $200 already. I'm pretty sure he is just going to scrap it. Seems like a waste, but there aren't many people with these cars that need a parts vehicle.

I found the perfect parts car for you. Maybe you can buy both and make one good car. He even has the SPID so I know he was an enthusiast. Look at all the new parts! What a deal!
1998 Buick Riviera Supercharged - Broken subframe bolts - $500 (RI)
1998 buick riviera
cylinders: 6 cylinders
drive: fwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 136747
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
type: coupe
Right up front: this vehicle is not safe to drive in it's current state! Two of the six subframe mount bolts have failed, the head has snapped on one and the encapsulated nut inside the unibody on the other is no longer attached to the body.

That said, this is a lower mileage supercharged Riviera. The L67 supercharged 3800 runs great and the 4T65E transmission is solid. The interior is in decent shape as well. It would make a great parts car.

New parts:
- AC Delco plugs and wires
- Ignition coils
- Mass Air Flow sensor
- Catalytic converter
- Center resonator
- Rear Oxygen sensor
- Rear air shocks and upper mounts

New-ish parts:
- Both belt tensioners
- Alternator
- Tires (Antares from Town Fair Tire)

Not yet installed parts that will go with the car:
- Transmission mount
- Belts
- Transmisson filter kit
- Two replacement subframe bolts, washers, and bushings
- Oil pan gasket

Do not buy this car if:
- You want a car you can drive right now or at all
- You can't pay cash

Do buy this car if:
- You want a parts car for your Riviera
- You want a supercharged 3800 for some other project
- You want to part the car out

Well, I'm 0/3 with Craigslist scrappers. They offer money and say they'll be right over, then they are never heard from again. Steve and his trailer are available after my next work trip next month, so we'll scrap it the hard way then.

Maybe they look at the pics again after the call and realize there is no metal left...

The pics of the Buick don't show any rust, regardless, it's still a 3700lb car.

The auctions are for a pulled drvietrains and they offer shipping, so that's something. Taking the drivetrain out is some amount of work.

I've already pulled the Craigslist ad, I'll see what eBay gives me. I've got a couple weeks to figure it out.

I was just joking about that.
