07 S550: cam position sensor and magnet plug inspection

I have never inspected these on this car. Oil can wick up the harness, get to the computer and cause issues (sometimes total engine computer failure). In the case of high output engines like the M157 in my E63S, as the computer goes bonkers, engine control outputs can be wrong and cause actual engine damage or total failure. In the M273 I don't think engine failure is really possible, thankfully.

I checked all 4 cam position sensors and all 4 solenoid magnet plugs. Aside from some broken harness locking tabs (particularly on the driver's side near the oil cooler), the only ones that had oil on them were the outer magnets.

Driver's side exhaust CPS and magnet plugs. Broken tab on the CPS plug (I should secure with a ziptie). I found some oil on the magnet plug and cleaned it. Replacing the magnet looks like the power steering reservoir is in the way. I MIGHT be tempted to do the P/S reservoir at that time because it has an integral filter which is kind of a maintenance item.

No plans to do anything except maybe some ziptie engineering. I should inspect the big plugs at the ECM but I didn't feel like it. Maybe next time I do the engine air filters because the ECM access is under there. Actually the ECM is exposed but the plugs are under the air filter/engine cover housing.
