2014 E63S: unplug oil pump valve?

Post by kevm14 »

I'll just link to my thread, which has exploded in popularity, and is now in the sticky thread.

https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/877 ... noids.html

Abstract: many fuel economy era Mercedes engines use a 2-stage oil pump system, with reduced pressure for, you know, those times you don't want as much oil pressure. That includes my M157. The solenoid works when power is applied, and pressure is bled off at the oil pump. It is supposed to have a spring to return it to full pressure when deactivated. So, in theory, unplugging would permanently give full oil pressure. One less thing to fail. What I didn't realize was ALL of the side benefits of having full oil pressure. I'm pretty blown away by this.

Sharing some stuff from Xentry Simulation mode. This was poking around in a 2015 S63. It does in fact have an oil pressure sensor.
