Competition is good but I would hate for the OEMs to get distracted by trying to beat the other guy and end up dumping so much R&D that the sales never recoup it, and the cars kind of fade away (90s Japanese sports/GT cars anyone?). Would like to see more steady progress. On the other hand, they almost have to get it all in now because things are going to get tougher in terms of standards. We already lost a Gen V LS7 replacement due to emissions standards.
