Gen 6 Camaro ZL1 and 1LE

Some interesting things:

ZL1 will have the same 650HP power plant as the Z06, but 0-60 is 3.5 vice 3, and it does the 1/4 in 11.4 @127 (Hellcat is 3.6 and 11.7 @126). (It has a backseat though for those that care)

The 1LE is .1 seconds slower than the SS, and costs $6,500 extra. Last time (Gen 5) it was 3500 more, and changed out gears to be slightly quicker than the SS. It comes with Magna ride, so I guess if you optioned a SS with Magna ride, the delta is less than 6500, I wouldn't want that standard, or with the 1LE... so that is too bad.

None of that actually happened because it hasn't been tested yet.
According to Chevrolet, the new ZL1 will tip the scales 220 pounds lighter than the previous-generation ZL1— which means it will weigh about the same as its naturally aspirated 2SS counterpart. We estimate that it will be in the neighborhood of 3,600 pounds
These guys are smoking something. Gen 5 ZL1 was over 4,100 lbs. Which puts the new one around 3,900. How the author got to 3,600 is probably wishful fanboy thinking.

Furthermore, the new Z06 traps around 125 as did the LS7 Z06. So I wouldn't expect the new ZL1 to trap 125. But it will probably won't be too far off.

And at $62k this will be a good value (as a new car anyway).
