Luckily if the Continental was based on the Taurus, nobody can say that anymore since the Taurus doesn't exist anymore, except it does since the Fusion is the real Taurus, and the Continental was actually based on the Crown Vic, that was being called a Taurus, except for 2 years when they called it a 500.

I was going to say at least Ford didn't do something really stupid like name a sports car after a trim level like the SS... except they did... with the new Ford GT.
