BaT Flipping Thread
Re: BaT Flipping Thread
If this is legit, it could be flipped for sure: https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/d/ ... 78280.html
Re: BaT Flipping Thread
With proper graphics and wheels, this could have potential: https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/d/ ... 86030.html

Interesting find, but the price is only fair relative to other BaT comps. Not much money to be made here...

Re: BaT Flipping Thread
About $6k overpriced....for what I think it should be worth.
Re: BaT Flipping Thread
Your valuation = roughly $10 per lb-ft
Re: BaT Flipping Thread
This is a bit of a wild card. A small profit might be able to be made: https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/d/ ... 60661.html
Re: BaT Flipping Thread
Keep an eye on this. We may have our first 6 figure Type R: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997- ... AaM1HQWn5E
Re: BaT Flipping Thread
And if that is really true, I don't see how this could be worth even close to what a brand new Civic Type R costs. So from that angle, that tremendously devalues this car if we're using the "man I wish they still made this exact car, they'd be so popular!" argument. The new Type R offers simultaneously significantly better overall performance but also every day usability. It's just not even close. This is not much different than walking into the Acura showroom ‘today’ and getting a new 1997 ITR ! My brain is still trying to unpack this…
Functionally this car is good for chasing cones in a parking lot. I don't understand why "the ultimate 90s sport compact rawness and purity" would be worth $100k but what do I know. Then again, a big chunk of that is the low mileage, condition and history because a great functioning example with 45k and a slightly more checkered history would bring far less, I assume. But again, you know what has the lowest mileage, perfect condition and best history? A brand new Civic Type R.
And to be fair, I don't think a low mileage, mint condition 1968 anything is worth $100k, either. On objective terms, it just isn't. It's more the way a piece of jewelry or a piece of art would be valued or something (hint: it is heavily marked up from its material value).
Re: BaT Flipping Thread
Up over $70k already. You can buy a new Civic Si that will perform equivalently or better in most tests for $25k brand new, but it won’t have the soul.
