Go Kart / Mower

Still thinking of making a Go Kart kind of thing out of a mower...

This is a good video:

I was thinking about relocating the engine of the Scotts to the back like this. Basically remove everything from the console/steering wheel forward and sit on the frame forward of where the seat is. I think you could cut/shorten the steering column rod, and keep the steering and front wheel assembly as is.

Would need a new spot for the battery and the gas tank.

More good stuff:

This is looking like a good channel. There are a lot of other things that they do besides lawnmower stuff.

Looking like hydrostatic isn't going to work. Seems like they max out at around 10mph and last a couple hours... Not good.

Either need a manual transaxle, or some kind of 90 degree adaptor for direct drive to an axle.

I wonder if you can buy front hub/CV joints.

So… If I get a manual transaxle, I could make a quick mower/kart, and have an extra hydro to make the 4x4 mower.
