Including PCMCIA. And cellular modems (tethering if you will). And PCI! Not the first 32-bit bus (MCA was first, then VESA, an extension to ISA) but it certainly became a standard. In fact, we still have PCI in various forms where the bandwidth requirements just don't dictate even PCI Express x1. Plug and play also really became en vogue around this time. Previously adding a sound card (and configuring it to avoid hardware resource conflicts) was a bit of a chore. Also, these were the days when computer games had to support individual sound card hardware, and you'd even have to tell it what the address was of your card. Fun.

And another GPS demo. Much more modern and inline with current capabilities and convenience.
