Re: 2002 Maxima Repair

I would be inclined to attribute it to the new spark plugs. PCV is correct.

You may have also benefitted from a new intake gasket (upper intake has to come off to do the rear injectors, #6).

It has to run noticably smoother, right?

Nice job! I assume the lift worked out well. How long did it take?

Re: Fleetwood (or any LT1 car) heater hose valve replacement

If your heater core is clogged, bypassing that valve will make it work like it never has. But you run the risk of springing a leak (I think that was the point of the orifice). The thing is, my Caprice even with a restrictor, puts out ridiculous 160°F+ heat, on a 283k heater core...the Maxima has suc...

Re: Fleetwood (or any LT1 car) heater hose valve replacement

I wonder how long RMS's website will continue to work.

I believe that valve is just a restricting orifice. I know on some TBI cars (maybe 91-92?) there was a more complicated vacuum controlled heater valve. My 93 has the regular orifice.

Edmunds track tests 2014 CTS Vsport

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqOz5pxeCXs Needs more power. Off the line looks lame as hell. Ran a 13.3 @ 106.3 which seems slow. It's a little heavier than my car with a little more power...so maybe the time makes sense. http://www.edmunds.com/cadillac/cts/2014/road-test.html http://www.edmunds.co...

Re: HDMI to Composite Converter (yes, you read this correctl

I spaced. Forgot "Adam" wasn't you. Apple doesn't make the HDCP rules. DRM. Things that allow you to turn HDCP into an unprotected analog output are a huge grey area, and probably illegal in the US. HD Fury is made somewhere else...though they let you import it, apparently. EDIT: My readin...

Re: HDMI to Composite Converter (yes, you read this correctl

Didn't we both look at the manual? It specifically supports HDCP over DVI. It probably supports audio over DVI since I suspect that the encryption works on the whole content, so if it supports HDCP, you'll get video and audio. I have some concerns about this, too. First, it doesn't seem to accept a ...

Re: HDMI to Composite Converter (yes, you read this correctl

Well here's an easy rule of thumb: if you want analog output of copy protected content, you'll have to pony up for the HD Fury.

For their TV, I maintain you should investigate if you can do HDMI to DVI and maintain HDCP and audio.
