Re: 05 STS trans cooler line leak

Not arguing that you shouldn't have modern cars. They're great, I'm sure. Just saying that if all your cars are modern, they will all have modern car problems. And when you go from car to car, they will all be kinda comparable to an extent. Getting into a 24 year old Roadmaster is a completely diffe...

Re: 05 STS trans cooler line leak

You may be on to something.. If you get rid of the Roadmaster, the only simple car you will own is the free dodge.

I know the answer though .. Cars with 4 speed transmissions and less than 300hp are basically unusable on today's roads.

Wow, definitely a good thing you didn't just drive to work. Though, the RMW has a low oil indicator, and your sedan prob does as well. So you might not have toasted the engine

Re: 05 STS battery...again

So GM updated the nav firmware and you don't have to worry about the date thing anymore? Not bad for a 14(?) year old car..

Is the fuse for the amp one of those under the rear seat? Can't you just test the draw for the amp?

Re: Dead Roadmaster Battery <1 year old

Just like software, the consumer does the real testing. IMG_20200201_154343882~2.jpg Picking up my 'new' alternator tomorrow morning. Roadmaster mostly reassembled.. alternator job is nothing on this car. You can bet I'll be checking voltages before starting the car on Monday. At least I can do that...

Score! Measurable drain via new alternator. Thanks AutoZone.
That alternator feed is live!

Final test is to disconnect the alternator and see if battery drains still. Bet it doesn't.

Re: Dead Roadmaster Battery <1 year old

I bought the lifetime AutoZone alternator so I have a lifetime of crappy alternators to go with my alignments.

I'll just keep making them give me new ones until I get a good one. Breakfast done cooking, will have results "shortly"
