That was a fail.

Got through step 11. Step 12.1 resulted in HTTP 500. I tried a whole bunch of things. I played with the PHP version. Upgraded to 7.2. Played with file/folder permissions. Nothing worked. Tried a DreamHost chat session. They tried some stuff and that didn't help. Next step is to submit a ticket and get someone to deep dive it for me.
The thing is, step 12.1 will actually upgrade the DB so it is theoretically the point of no return. Well, I mean, I could restore a DB backup and stuff...
Anyway, they reverted me to PHP 5.6 for now. The thing is, this might actually work on 7.2. The whole point is I thought it was not compatible. So maybe I will actually push it back to 7.2 and just upgrade the forum at another time. Or maybe I'll try again on 5.6 and see what a DreamHost ticket can do for me.
