05 STS front turn signal bulb out

Post by kevm14 »

It happened Wednesday morning after a cold start. I noticed it was charging at 15V and sure enough that was enough to finish what was left of the bulb filament life I guess.

Got a pair of 3757 amber bulbs from Advance for about the same cost as Rockauto w/ shipping but I didn't have to wait.

Tackled it this afternoon after I did the tractor stuff. I got lazy (or smart) and just tried doing it right in the driveway and only after cranking the wheel to the full right lock. No jacking up, no removing the wheel.

And it worked! So that was a great idea. Plus it was kinda nice out today anyway (like 43F). I don't think it took more than 30 minutes. Just a little bit of laparoscopic work through the splash shield but I like the design of the turn/fog assembly on this car vs the SRX. Each bulb is accessible behind its own twist lock cover with O-ring. Just twist the upper cover, pull it off, then twist the bulb to unlock it and pull that out. Bulb just pulls straight out of the plug. Not too tricky.
