Loose headlight on Roadmaster

Post by kevm14 »

This is up there for satisfying repairs.

When I close the hood, I noticed the passenger side headlight assembly actually shakes. And I can wobble it around a little. Driver's side very firm.

I compare sides and it doesn't take long to figure out the issue.

This is the driver's side. Notice the upside down bolt in the speed nut.

This is the passenger side. No bolt or speed nut!

I think the correct fastener is an M6x1 but TSC didn't have an M6x1 speed nut (they did have the right bolt though). So I got a 1/4-20 speed nut and body bolt (captured washer).

It is quite solid now, just like the other side. Fixed! Cost was like $3 or something.
