To me, my rationale as to why Trump even made it out of the primaries was mainly because the Reps had way too many people jockeying for the position. Trump clearly spoke to a certain amount of people and those people supported him. The other Reps took the base and divided it up amongst themselves. So, this divided the vote where Trump could win with only say 30% of a vote and gain momentum until it was too late to really stop him.

As for the Dems, I respected the hell out of Bernie and agreed with a lot he had to say but the problem was actually doing it. Sure, you can talk about free education and free this and that but the problem is, you're going to have to get the money from somewhere (unless you somehow force state universities and private colleges to lower their tuition and room/board charges, which would never happen). So, when you have another candidate like Hilary who will back the establishment and will tow the party line, Bernie just never had a real chance.

Now, I hope both the Dem and Rep have to rebuild their parties. Unless Trump somehow makes the next 4 years "great", I still don't see the Rep party backing him. I think they realized what happened and might work a little more together to find a more suitable candidate. As for the Dems, they have to rebuild. I don't see Bernie running again in another 4 years and Hilary's political career has to be done. So, who's left? Who's next in line so to speak. But we'll see. I agree with what people are saying that the country as a whole has to come together and do their best to unite and get things turned around. For me, I just laugh at these protestors who probably don't really know what they're protesting about. They're more likely filled with people are just aren't use to not getting what they want and rather than work for something, they'd rather just whine and complain on social media. The funny thing is how people were going to mock Trump had he lost and probably would have rubbed it in the Trump supporters faces that they lost are now the same people complaining that their side lost fair and square.

It should be an interesting few years we've got ahead. Let's see what happens.

You're a former Senator and Secretary of State, if you don't know what a "C" means, then to me, you're automatically disqualified.

It could mean that she had one of her interns take the annual training.

Plus, I'm sure there was some sexism involved with people just saying that they wouldn't vote for her based on her gender. And perhaps some of that offset the female vote that only voted for her because she's a woman.

My grandmother voted against her because she is a women. From talking with her about it, i bet many people in her age bracket (90) have similar opinions.

True, I suppose Hilary could have just clicked the next button on the powerpoint training and maybe there wasn't a mandatory quiz at the end that she had to take. Hey, that could have been a better excuse....

I find that/this interesting. My 97 great-aunt I'm sure voted for Hilary, but that's because she's just a hard core democrat and would back whoever is the democrat candidate. I know my 65yr old mom, voted for Hilary mainly because she feared what would have happen if Trump became President. So, yeah, I do wonder how many women voted against Hilary because of her gender. I know I read an article by Lena Dunham (if any of you know who she is) and she wrote "It’s painful to know that white women, so unable to see the unity of female identity, so unable to look past their violent privilege, and so inoculated with hate for themselves, showed up to the polls for him, too". Now, I do take this with a grain of salt because I disagree with a lot that Dunham has to say but she might have a small point.
