Looking at the pic again, I am wrong, it is definitely a 3300. Not 60 degree.

I like the Riviera for the following reasons:
- Should be pretty reliable aside from any used car TLC that is always required
- One of the last big luxury coupes aside from something like the Thunderbird or Eldorado. Jenn likes coupes (not sure about big coupes)
- G-body platform means it drives above average for a 90s FWD GM car (admittedly a low bar) in terms of quality (thinking of squeaks, rattles and general solidity). It is not tuned for handling though.
- Not particularly fast in stock form but probably responsive to bolt-ons should the mood strike. Here's a 15-75 pull. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxPlrDrqsno
- Examples should be pretty cheap by now though sales were slow so that doesn't help supply.

248 fwhp possible with just a pulley apparently.

This begs the question - is it OK for a winter beater to cross the line into something vaguely resembling an enthusiast vehicle? Because this could do that...I mean the only thing I have that isn't an enthusiast vehicle in some way is the Ranger, which is strictly business. And I don't use it as any kind of winter beater or daily.

It's really annoying that the G8 GT didn't continue. It would be nice to be able to pick up a not totally spanked 150k example for 5 grand or something (one that's had DoD delete for starters).

It seems like G8 GT prices are still mostly above $10k even with over 100k miles. I guess the low production numbers may be helping to sustain resale values.

Here are some Chevys!!!

http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/5875751237.html - Tahoe
http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/5865649253.html - Suburban!
http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/5882575455.html - 1995 Caprice - 135K miles, 1800! Manual? Probably not.. Has Kevin's rims!
http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/5889981708.html - Cobalt SS Supercharged - 3K, Kevin's other favorite car!!! Needs new clutch kit, flywheel, and master cylinder. I know you didn't want a project, but I figured Kevin could drool over it...

And here it is... If Kevin's and Ed's cars had a baby...
http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/5864460845.html - 1995 Caprice Wagon, LT1!!! $2,000, 3 rows of seats! 174K miles, so based on Kevin's car, this is only half used up. Posted 28 days ago though...

Oh sweet winter beater. I wonder if that is 4WD. Looking at the dash I see push button 4WD. Probably has rust issues but it all depends how bad it is. When done with it, rip the LM7 out and slap a turbo on it and put it in something else. I like this truck.
Nice. Good price.

This must be the L99. If it is an LT1, it is a B4U which would be sweet and unlikely.

This isn't a bad deal but yeah it doesn't really meet requirements as it sits. The Fast and Furious treatment is a little concerning.

Hmm, not a bad winter rig. Throw a little traction aid back there. Also this a 2.56 car so if you put it in 2nd, it'll start in 2nd. Makes it harder to break traction in a gear that runs to 106 mph...

I agree. The rest were actually decent possibilities. I thought you would be more excited about the wagon.

I'm liking the Riviera, which doesn't annoy Kevin at all... Anyone want to drive to Methuen for a car retrieval mission?

Also, it snowed last night. So I've failed my "don't drive the Fleetwood in snow any more" goal.

Way ahead of you. I drove the Caprice which is still wearing my SS wheels.
