Mazda3 Front Struts

It's pronounced "chassy." Brakes, suspension...things that make the car fun or a death trap

Mazda3 Front Struts

So far the best video I have found of the process is here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5QPfPGgm4s

There is some extra detail about remounting to the springs that is skipped in the video:

I will be starting tomorrow AM. I tried to reproduce the creaking sound for my father-in-law, and surprise, it didn't happen even though it happens every time I go over a speed bump now...

I did PB Blast the top bolts and the 2 underneath on each side, and sprayed the bottom of the old strut/knuckle area. Unfortunately, there is a rubber boot below that... I put paper towel on but will likely get dripped on...

Hardest part of changing the struts... Removing the rotors for no reason because I decided to do breaks while I had the car apart since it had been 60K miles on these pads.
