Yes, I am watching now. I would echo those impressions vs the Vsport.kevm14 wrote:Super ducks fan reviews 2015 manual:

I really like that dark green.
He makes a Vsport comment. It is what you would expect.
Kia Rondo Replacements
Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
Yeah I mean if you got it for $24k or $24.5k that would be a pretty damn good deal. But that still won't touch the extra depreciation (and likely decreased reliability) over that M6 SS. You need to drive that 2015 and see what you think. Motor Trend Ignition said their 2016 had revised steering and suspension, but I don't know if that really applies to the 2015 since that's when they added MR. It is slower around a track than the 2014 (which had no MR) but makes the overall vehicle that much more sweet to drive. And if the steering is improved, that would help to address one of your issues with it. I just think it is a more special car. The back seat is better. It sounds better. The Vsport is very nice, but in the same way a Mercedes E-class is nice (but with a much better chassis, which does matter). The SS really can't be duplicated by anything else. And unlike with my complaints on the PPV (and G8), the SS is quite a nice vehicle - it's just not a full on luxury vehicle.
I can tell you the 2016 did get a mild exterior tweak over the 2015. I believe the 2014 and 2015 are identical on the exterior. And the 2016 and 2017 are also identical.
Here is the 2014/2015: 2016/2017: It's probably just the front fascia and wheels. I don't know that I have a preference between them.

Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
It does sound like the 2015 should perform more like the 2014. I would guess the 2016 and 2017 are both softer, which coincided with the mild refresh. Annoyingly difficult to confirm this stuff. It's like they barely made any of these or something.Mr Regular reviewed a 2017 which has different magride suspension programming than the earlier mag ride cars. Some owners have complained the 2017 mag ride retune produced a floaty car with not enough body control. By contrast, my 2015 does not feel floaty in tour mode and isn't anything like he described on really bad pavement. Downtown denver roads are pretty awful and even in tour, the SS is a little too firm, but not terribly so. I have never felt it hit the bumpstops or run out of travel, or felt like body control was lacking. I like to use perf mode because I prefer the heavier weight steering and the slower accelerator pedal, but then I have to endure the performance mode ride setting which is intolerable on really bad pavement.
Once again, not sure when it changed, but I'd guess 2016.I have complained plenty on this topic, no reason to stop now. Watched the vid and agree about the rough roads, not pleasant in a 17.
I mainly drove my 15 in tour mode only unless I was out driving triple digits, my 15 tour mode was as stiff or stiffer than my 17 performance mode. I only go into tour mode on my 17 sneaking into a neighborhood.
I am currently on a road trip and have had some high speed driving and have been in performance or track most of the time, if the road is not completely smooth the ride is bouncy, even at triple digits. Have encountered plenty of bad roads on this trip as well, honestly I dont know which mode is better to handle bad roads in my 17. Tour mode is very bouncy on the rough roads I have driven on during this road trip, especially the dirt road with rocks to get back to my buddies house where I am going 10mph, sport seems best, less bouncy.
Granted I have lowered my SS with King SL so I am a bit more stiff than stock, but also put on all season DWS which possibly softened the ride? Also maybe the ride height is a factor and or less rake, so front sits higher in the 17? All I know is owning both I think the mrc was right in 15, not in 17 and would take a tune as C7 owners get if I was or am able in the future.
I'll have to go for a ride in a 2017 and 2015 and see how different they feel. My 2016 in Tour mode handles small bumps really well, but medium and large bumps really unsettle the car and make it roll from side to side, a bit like a row boat getting hit in the side by a wave. However that is mostly around town, at free way speeds tour is fine.
Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
Be sure to remember this when someone says "they would have sold more if it looked better." Or you can just punch them in the face because that is a complete misunderstanding of what actually happened.Wasn't the whole point of selling the SS in the US to fulfill an agreement that GM made w/ the Australian government in exchange for incentives?
GM never really wanted to sell it in the US, certainly not in any volume beyond what they promised. So they did just what they had to and nothing more. Heck, if they did market the SS and did somehow manage to stir up demand for the SS here in the US, would they have even been able to increase the US allocation? I see a lot of mention of the lack of marketing, but I think that's simply by design. There was never a possibility of any real volume.
Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
I reached a revised agreement on the Vsport in West Palm Beach. $24k this time and I sent him a $500 deposit. I'm flying down Saturday morning to pick it up. Hopefully all goes as planned.

Everyone gets a new car!
Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
He really needs to convince his dad to at least test drive that damn SS, because I know he will love it. Then I will somehow travel to Charlotte and drive a couple of sweet sedans.
Also, $24k is a pretty damn good deal for a Vsport with less than 70k. With 7k left of CPO, too. Most of the Premiums are still $30k or higher. In fact this is likely the cheapest Vsport Premium with under 100k, probably ever sold. There is a lesson for Bill in here - you CAN buy the cheapest and you CAN negotiate without first looking at it. Of course, I should wait to declare victory until after Bob drives home with it.

You could drive your CTS-V there in an effort to put some miles on it.
