158.1 gallons @ $2.09. Exeter Fuel is at $2.33/gal at this quantity.
Seems to be going up....thanks for canceling the Keystone XL pipeline like an idiot, Biden Administration.

Re: Oil use
165.8 gals @ $2.26. Exeter Fuel is $2.43.

						Re: Oil use
118.9 gallons @ $2.15/gal. Exeter Fuel is $2.40 at this qty. That's a difference. Even at 500+ gallons the price is still $2.18.

						Re: Oil use
93.1 gallons @ $2.28. Exeter Fuel is at $2.45 for this quantity and I'd have to buy 400 gallons to get $2.27/gal.

						Re: Oil use
48.3 gallons @ $2.65. Exeter fuel is at $2.80 at this quantity. I'd have to buy 500+ gallons to get $2.66/gal.

						Re: Oil use
121.8 gallons @ $2.52/gal. Exeter Fuel is still $2.63/gal and that's at 500+ gallon quantities. Would have been $2.85. I feel like I am just sipping on oil here. Though the price actually went down so maybe I'll think about opening up the ducts to the great room a bit or all the way. It's going to get colder anyway. Also would like to see my next electricity bill to see if I can figure out how much more I am spending on electricity to offset my oil savings. But I think a lot of the oil savings come from the insulation work.

						Re: Oil use
Patriot here again. I guess 1 month increments in cold season is reasonable but I am using so much less oil than previous seasons.
85.5 gallons @ $2.63. Exeter fuel is $2.75 at this quantity and would require 300-349 gallons to match this price.
I will actually attempt to compare oil usage but I really need historical degree days to do it. The first data point I grabbed from last year says 40% reduction.
Might be averaging more like a 25% savings? Based on Excel regression analysis.
My linear regression curves have different slopes, probably because I don't have enough data points. But I'm showing a range of savings from 10% to 49%. The 10% savings is correlated to an 800 degree day time span and claims I'd save 16 gallons of oil (that isn't much). But on a 50 degree day span which is extremely mild weather, it claims the savings would be 26 gallons which is nearly 50%. So.....need more data. I guess I could take the average which is 23%. So maybe 25% is a good rough estimate until I can find better data. 25% seems right intuitively when you consider the insulation, down firing my furnace oil burner and some mini-split supplemental heat.

Re: Oil use
154.3 gal @ $3.12/gal. Went way up. To get this price Exeter Fuel would require between 300-400 gallons purchased. Prices are closer than they usually are though. This also means I should be riding my mini-split even in cold temps and.....I have been, maybe just for science, but now also for savings.

						Re: Oil use
143.1 gal @ $3.15/gal. This happened on 2/21 while we were away so I was unable to check the Exeter Fuel price. I am sure it has gone up but I'll compare anyway. Exeter Fuel is $3.48 for 500+ gallons and $3.70 at this amount. But, again, I am certain it has gone up since 2/21.

						Re: Oil use
98.7 gal @ $4.15/gal. Can't check Exeter Fuel at the moment. Site seems to be down.
It's up.
Even at 500+ gallons their price is $4.28/gal so another win for Patriot. At this quantity their price would have been $4.50.
