09 C300 ABS module issue

It's pronounced "chassy." Brakes, suspension...things that make the car fun or a death trap

09 C300 ABS module issue

Probably just needs a chip resoldered. Here are the R&R instructions.

Used is also available for the $200 range. But this may require some gymnastics to reprogram the VIN to match the vehicle. I am not sure I have the tools to do it without the BenzNinja's help (but I have BenzNinja).

In summary:
1) Resolder that chip. This is free but labor intensive.
2) Buy a "reman" type part which means they either resoldered it already or they just virginized the module. The VIN probably still needs to be programmed BUT some sellers may do this if you supply the VIN, AND any decent tool that does Mercedes can do this. These are around $600 give or take.
3) Buy used, which as I said above, is around $200, but MAY not be programmable by a regular DIY. That's why I have the BenzNinja.

Ah this guy was able to change the VIN with an Autel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YMkVpWdwX8

This guy seems to show the pin contacts need to be reflowed, not that chip.

This makes more sense and is easier.

Slightly cheaper option ($450) but probably off the table if I attempt a DIY repair. Not sure they'll like the way I get into the case.

Scanned with DAS. Had a 5001 in the ABS module. Will upload PDF when able.

Looks like my Launch will write a new VIN if we wanted to try a used module but I think it makes more sense to go remanufactured.

I ran two tests. One was the pump and one was some valve. Both passed.

Removed module which was extremely easy. I'll attempt to get into the case and reflow solder on the plug pins this weekend.
