- fix at a wheel specialist and optionally refinish the wheel
- find a used wheel
- use this opportunity to push forward with the forged front wheels that I have been searching for and cannot find used

I'm leaning toward the last one but my only option might be dealer refinished which is very expensive. And I should probably do tires.
Going to get it fixed at Jim's Rims. He quoted some prices on the phone that sounded reasonable, and they might have it turned around tomorrow if I bring it now. Refinishing sounded reasonable, as well, for future reference. At this point I've lost over a month of service to this issue. I may have another month+ of usage as long as they don't salt the roads. That would be nice.

$249 for crack repair. I dropped it off. Should be ready tomorrow.

This style would be $249 to refinish or $349 if they have to send it out for machining.

Drove it in. Seems ok.

The place was a hole in the wall and seemed disorganized. First they asked if my AMG 19" had a center cap or not. I said yes. Then they brought out a black center cap and said "this one right?". Nope. They went back in the shop. Another 10 minutes and they roll out a just fixed AMG 19". Only problem was, this wasn't my wheel. But it did have my tire on it. They realized it but wanted me to confirm. They rolled that one back in and then proceeded to probably actually repair my wheel (nearing 5pm at this point), as I was hearing the distinct sound of TIG welding. Hopefully workmanship was not compromised. They also located my center cap. So in the end it got done but they need to be more organized.

I still need to get the invoice because their printer wasn't working.

He texted me the invoice. Tires seem to have smoothed out after sitting for 5 weeks. I'm pleased with the results. Hope it holds.

New front tires today. The original plan was to find matching front wheels and do tires then but a month ago I noticed that it was down to the cords on the inside of the pass front. Sigh.

So I got Michelin PSS and had them install my new TPMS sensors that I was saving for the new wheels. Tire Pros knocked a couple bucks off the tires so it matched anything I could find anywhere else. Still pretty pricey at like $319/ea for the tires. I noticed my rears are the Mercedes M01 tread but they don't make that for the front. Next set I may switch to PS4s (or PS5s?). Hopefully these last a few years.

One of the techs recognized me and the car, and remembered my E55. I told him totaled it but that's why I have this E63. He really liked the car (both of them), so that was cool.

Anyway, I finally got rid of those Continental run flats. The car drives SO NICE now. I am very pleased. Ride is great and even before the mold release rubs off they really feel great in corners. The vibration is also gone. One of the fronts came with the car and the other I bought around 99k since it was worn out. I hope I corrected the alignment issue. I mean the camber was out and it's good now (or was last time I got an alignment). I am going to run 42 psi rear and I guess 43-44 psi front. We'll see. Of course they returned the car at 51 psi because the door jamb sticker says that. The gas door tells a different and nuanced story.

114,459 miles for this service.
