This. I like this plan because the show would drive a project to be completed.. Vice delaying it further by adding to our various lists of projects.

I made a similar point to Bill.

Quite frankly, the easiest thing (at least conceptually) is for the show to be the video version of this forum.

It isn't that I disagree that this will take time away from other stuff, I just don't see the stuff that I personally need to do being super interesting.

Valve cover gaskets, fluid changes, spark plugs... On a Corolla... I mean I guess we can put a funny spin to it, but these are boring tasks, that already have youtube videos about how to do them.

I mean maybe sport suspension upgrades on the 3 but still...

I do agree it is a lot about the angle, delivery and personalities. We have some good ideas on the list for shows that aren't necessarily projects, and might be more interesting/funny.

I would say the Monte Carlo (obviously), the Saab, and the Lexus are good projects. It will be awesome to show the Caprice Monte Carlo beating the Caprice Caprice. (This shit talk is why the show will be awesome)
These are good not only because they need to be done, because other wise they are a waste of good cars, but they are good because it isn't menial maintenance tasks.

I can ask Jim what his bike project is all about tomorrow also. If we have 4 projects to start, that is a great start.

Plus if we are doing good projects, maybe a boring maintenance segment could be worked in, we just have to make it funny.

This is a great example of what we should do. These guys are funny, and I want to see more videos that they have done.

Maybe you missed this?

Maybe? If it can, it has to be configured to do so and can not run an engine at the same time. From the transmission manual, it looks like you need to add some additional resisters and jumpers to the v2 board before you upload the special transmission firmware. See the trans control supplement document in the attached zip.

Hello. Just thought I would remind/harass everyone that we really should do the YouTube/Show thing.

Here is more information from that other video I posted:

"Super Speeders has been around since 2003 and captures the world of exotic car street racing and the misadventures surrounding that lifestyle. With tens of millions of internet views and close to 100,000 DVDs sold"

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1nstS ... tMF2OZx5tw

So, in youtube money:
http://www.quora.com/How-much-does-a-Yo ... rn-a-month
2.4M views per month would mean a total revenue of slightly less than $5,000 a month

"During the holiday season, advertisers are falling over each other to get their ads out there. So all that highly influences the CPC (Cost Per Click) that a YouTuber gets. Basically, in december I get at least 3 times as much for the same amount of views than I get in July."

Here is the real key:

"Finally, for a lot of YouTubers the advertisements are their smallest source of income. They also make money from sponsorships ("this video is brought to you by..."), selling merchandise, product placement (companies pay them to show products in their videos) and affiliate marketing (referred links to webshops). If you have a huge reach, that means you are very interesting to advertisers, who gladly pay you a little extra to get featured on your show.

So in the case you've presented, I think this YouTuber would earn at least $4,000 a month. But his total income from YouTube (including sponsor deals and external advertising) might just as well be a 5 figure number."

So, we should get some videos together and launch late summer, so if/when they pick up, it will be during the high payout time (December).
