Right. Fortunately, I think the performance Cadillacs give all of the Euro-drivability that people like but with far less of the maintenance nightmares.
I bought my CTS-V at 97k and the only thing it has needed was a starter. I did have to track down an odd electrical issue that ended up being a grounding bolt in the main relay box. That was an easy fix though. I literally just shimmed the bolt.

Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
Well... Cadillac in general I would agree, but I don't know about the CTS-V2. GM is doing a good job of replacing the supercharger setup currently, but I don't know 10-15 years later how this will play out. There will be a bunch replaced, but probably a bunch with low enough miles that didn't need to be replaced but could be time bombs.
If this were a grand or 2 then yeah ok, take the chance but this will be massively expensive to replace if it also takes out the motor with it.

Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
I do like the idea of buying a higher mileage CTS-V and not daily driving it. I am not sure if I can afford to have two non-daily drivers from a space standpoint. Getting my hands on that sweet 06 Accord SE as my daily beater would open up a lot of possibilities.
Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
It's down to $23k on eBay now. Wasn't it $24k before? Screaming deal. Still can't believe it doesn't have nav though. It was standard on all 2004-2007 CTS-Vs. That must mean that the screen doesn't pop up out of the dash.Bob wrote:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cadillac-CTS-V-/121800088960 High milez, but this is one of the lowest prices I have seen on a V2. Unfortunately it was owned up north and probably driven through the winter given the mileage.
It would also be very interesting to obtain the service history for this car.
Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
If we trust Edmunds, these were the available options. This is strange to me as the 04-05 CTS-V basically had the sunroof as the only option, and most had it. In 06-07, I think even the sunroof became standard (but you could delete it).
Geez. I figured maybe the Recaros, the automatic and the fancy sunroof would have been optional. Although I suspect there were only a few option packages where many of these were grouped.14-Way Power Driver's Seat

KBB seems to do a little better job here.

Other eye opening facts...
Edmunds private TMV on this car, in Outstanding condition, is $19,575, and dealer retail is $22k.
What's REALLY bizarre is that KBB private in Excellent condition is $14,602, which does not sound right at all.
Did the new CTS-V do some damage here? Or have I just not evaluated these with higher miles? Or maybe both. This won't be good for my car.

Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
Mine on KBB, private, Excellent: $10,777. Sounds low but not as ridiculously low as the 2009 V2.kevm14 wrote: This won't be good for my car.
Edmunds private, Outstanding: $11,274.
So $11k book, and I think I could fetch $12k reasonably. Considering the V2 is supposed to be like $15-25k more expensive than mine, it is amazing what an extra 43k miles will do to the value.
Re: Kia Rondo Replacements
I think the extremely high mileage may be dragging these values down.kevm14 wrote:Other eye opening facts...

That silver V2 is also listed from someone with zero feedback, so that's something as well.
