A Mustang owner would say something to the effect of "too much performance for the stock chassis" rather than "bad inherent design coupled with shoddy materials".

Fair enough. By those standards, I would say that the 3rd gen handled its power better. The SN95 was better but I think it still trailed the 4th gen F-body in that department.
