The sad thing is, because they went with an 02, the price isn't that far out of line. But it smacks of a scam nonetheless. Because pricing isn't the only indicator of a scam.

Re: Craigslist scams
I know Bill thought this wasn't an automatic scam. But I know it is. In fact a search revealed an exact listing in Tucson, AZ CL. But the posting was flagged for removal. The text was identical though. That's never legit.kevm14 wrote: First example which just popped up:
http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/5969453004.html1996 Impala Providence.$3500 - $3500
1996 impala SS like new -cd player holds 10 cds -borla stainless steel exaust magna flo cats k&n air charger filter auto start alarm. car has been garaged since new paint is like the day I bought it never seen snow. car has 47000. original miles.
The formula is pretty simple. Relatively short listing description, usually resulting in a very nice example, often low miles, and a single picture. Plus obviously a too good to be true price.
I think the Tahoe has a better chance of being real than this - this would qualify for an impulse buy. The value of this car is at least twice the asking. Probably more like $10k.

Ooh the first CL scam I've seen.

How exciting. $1500, one pic. Nope.
