Old hose did have numbers on it. Obviously these are small and were on the bottom side.
Looks like a date code, too. 2/1/05. That would be original...
So this part number is 10360702.
Only one of the hose offerings crosses to this number, at least within Rockauto's listings. And that is a Gates without HD cooling. So....I did pick the right hose. Still think the shorter one may have avoided the rubbing but maybe it had a little different shape, as well. Meh. At least my method worked for getting the correct hose.
