Just verified with Quality Fleet Service that it's a genuine Perkins / Garrett turbo with 12 mo warranty, so I told them I'd order it through them. Apparently it's coming from the UK, so hopefully shipping isn't astronomical.

I rebuilt a Garrett turbo on a Saab once. It came apart ok, which was helpful, probably due to decades of oil leaks. Internals look similar to the JCB unit. It has some number of miles on it now and is still working at least as well as the transmission.

Cool - I had rebuilt the one on my 2008 Audi A4 B7 2.0 TFSI previously. The only major screwup I made on that one was that I didn't know the shaft was left hand thread and I managed to elongate a section of threads before realizing it. Went back together ok and about 6k miles later no issues. This JCB one was just too far gone. Replacement unit came today and I got it installed.
