Part of the kit is a new PCM flash, which probably costs something at the dealer. Can't be more than an hour labor. Probably less. Would have been kind of cool if the kit included a "flash voucher" good at any dealer (prepaid, built into the price of the kit). But labor rates vary across the country, so...
And the fact that it maintained the 5/100 warranty makes me feel good. Most report a 1-2 mpg increase also.
Sounds like a must-have if you get an HHR SS.

It doesn't really bother me because if I wanted to brag about how my car was faster than ______ on the internet, I would have kept the Z06.

I wish it wasn't all rainy and shitty here. I want to test drive the CTS wagon, SRX and this HHR. Hell they have an STS V6 but I'm not actually interested in that, at least not for Jamie. The other 3 are theoretical candidates except for the prices on the CTS wagon and SRX.

I usually try to take the CTS-V to test drives, partly because it gives me a nicer yardstick to compare against. As opposed to "wow, this is a lot nicer than [anything I own that isn't the CTS-V]" which is not that helpful.

Yeah but as much as the Elise isn't a speed car, you have to admit it's annoying that it looks faster than it is, especially for roll-ons.

Someone asking about the Stage 1 kit specifically in the auto HHR.
You go from 235-250hp, without the kit, all the way to 290hp, plus a very ''noticeable'' increase in torque
The First and Second gear is the greatest noticable improvment here. The boost is no longer restricted like it is stock in these two gears. It really changes the caricture of the car.
Kinda want this...
Buzz kills will be visibility and probably rear seat room.

I think the fat A-pillars are particularly annoying if you're used to driving stuff from the 90s.

It is, which is precisely why I don't do a lot of roll on races and also why I refused to race a turbo Forester once form a light. I do enjoy winding out 3rd and 4th all the way on the highway. Even if it's not that fast, it sounds nice and there is some satisfaction with shifting at 8500+.
