Ok time to get this thing out of my workshop. I had a few minutes this weekend and buttoned everything back up. Here is the finished product:

All in all a pretty satisfying project that took way longer than it should have. Like most things that come out of my workshop.

The next step is to follow the in the sacred tradition of all Toyota pickup owners and try to sell it for way too much money.

eBay listing is here:

I believe I have spent $385 at this point. I'm starting the auction lower than that because 1) I have no real idea what it's worth and 2) I think the buy it now price is fair and the auction has to start at least 30% less than that. I'm doing an auction format because that's what ebay is. I hate all the fixed price listings popping up on there, it's boring.

Here are a few relevant data points:

The unassembled kit of this sells for $440 right now.
The radio is no longer made, and sold for about $100 when it was new.
The electronics are worth another $60 or so.

It's not in pristine condition, probably 85%. I have no idea what that does to the value. Everything else listed right now is way more expensive- brand new models someone has assembled and is asking on the order of $1000 for.

Ebay will get a pound of flesh here too, about 10% of the purchase price.

Haha sold for $320. So I lost about $50. Whatever, it was fun and now it's off my workbench. On to the next weird thing I can dredge up from the depths of the internet...
