Auto close on the Mercedes is the full swing, not just power pull-down. I think it has auto open, too.

The Fleetwood has auto open, but GM did it with metal torsion rods.

Oh yeah, that's true. I think I adjusted mine so it wouldn't fly open. There are several levels to move the rod ends to. I never really liked that.
