I like how Jalopnik basically does what I do and post for-sale statistics for specific cars.

Time to compare specs of the CTS wagon to the Malibu Maxx (and Vibe, Mazda6 wagon and Magnum).

The owner replied in the comments section:
Yea.... it's not Bob Lutz's Caddy, it's mine, a different Bob employed by GM and I have a bobble head (Bob-L-head?) of Bob Lutz to haul. I know it's priced high, but like I said I'm not in a rush to sell and the high price is basically to ward off people offering me $32k, their paintball gun, and PlayStation. The fact that there is only 4 like this for sale on a site as large as cars.com makes me have a sad because here in Michigan there are plenty, there's at least 4 manual V wags at work on a given day, one with a handicapped tag (this person also has a manual ATS coupe I think) and I like to think people just like them too much to sell. But yea, if anyone is actually interested you can message me and we might be able to work out a better price.

Yeah I saw that. The CTS-V wagon with manual really is the ultimate Jalopnik ride. It's the car every car enthusiast would demand, but then wait patiently for a nice, depreciated model to become available. Well, someone has to buy it new, guys...

Sounds like it the CTS-V manual wagon sold pretty well to GM employees, at least. I wouldn't want to buy one that has been driven through a Michigan winter though.

A few winters won't adversely hurt anything. But you'd want to preserve it at that state. My CTS-V is kind of like that. It's seen a few winters but not all of them, and it will see none under my ownership.

So, like, if I don't buy a big fancy house, does that mean this would actually become a reality?

Only if you get one in the same color as your current car.

kevm14 wrote: Price check. 5 within 75 miles (up from 4 back in March). 80 CTS-V1s nation wide. Which is up by quite a bit.

The cheapest ones currently:
- Black 2004 w/ 117k for $11,700, private
- Silver 2005 w/ 136k for $11,995, dealer
- Silver 2005 w/ 151k for $10,900, dealer
- Black 2004 w/ 171k for $10,891, dealer
- Silver 2004 w/ 141k for $11,995, dealer

So $11k-$12k is still the floor. Under that and you get wrecks.
ZERO within 75 miles. 60 CTS-V1s nation wide.

Cheapest ones:
- Silver 2005 (black wheels) w/ 126k for $9,995, indie dealer
- Stealth gray (says blue and no pics) 2005 w/ unlisted miles for $9,995, indie dealer
- Black 2006 w/ 125k for $10,000, private
- Silver 2004 w/ 138k for $10,995, indie dealer
- Stealth gray 2005 w/ 128k for $10,575, indie dealer

You could say $10k is the floor but I'd say $11k to avoid sketch factor (no pics, no description, no mileage in one case). Under this and you get damaged stuff (flood, wreck, etc.). At least on autotrader. Still think mine would fetch about $12k though.

I will have to check again in the spring since the market wouldn't be hot for these right now, in any northern part of the country.
