I try to never think of Jersey...
Yup. Totally agree. That is where cars go to die apparently...

NADA has much higher numbers:
MSRP Low Average High (retail)
Base Price $25,560 $1,900 $2,675 $4,200
The spacing looks correct here, but gets messed up when posted. Also, the above is for a non-limited.

That seems to more reflect asking prices.

The Limited pricing is a few hundred higher in each category.

You can also book PVD to GSO (Greensboro, NC) super cheap with a layover in Charlotte. Saturday flights 2 weeks out are $126. Just get off the plane in Charlotte and don't take your connecting flight. This is technically frowned upon by the airline, but if you don't make a habit of it, they probably wont blacklist you.

I guess I agree, less than $2k is into the "taking advantage" category.

I was talking to Bill today and the one thing that I can't really get past is...the Caprice isn't dead or non-road worthy yet. That would make this much easier. And since I already have the STS, there would be no rush to immediately go out and buy the first one on CL. The question, then, would be ....what would I be looking for then? And would I find it? And is it better than this?

You care concerned about $995. That is not 3-5x the market value. That is the market value.

What is the market price for a clean RMS south of the Mason Dixon line? That should be factored in.

The market value is $1100-$2500 according to this thread. Yes he is down to asking $3k which means it'll fall right into the market value range. I was only trying to restate what I have said before: I don't want to pay more than I'd get if I turned around and posted it on CL. If the "market value" is $2500 but the highest offer was $1500, then $2500 isn't really the market value.
