The classic 350/TH350 build. I wonder where the 350 came from, or if it was just a junkyard truck engine with a aluminum intake and headers. Even if it was, it would probly drive well enough (except for highway cruising) to drive it as-is while various other components were upgraded to handle the eventual powertrain swap.

I hate 3-speed automatics, for the drivability. Certainly they can be built to handle power cheaper than overdrive autos.

Let me guess: it's not even a TH350C (lockup torque converter).
