I got my hose and more fluid.

E55 is taking up the garage and ramps...

Guess what vehicle was available for my Home Depot run yesterday?

It was the hose. Just aged and I hurt it pulling it off with pliers when I did the trans cooler job.

It's all filled up and bled. When I pulled it on the ramps the power steering was completely gone.

Going to road test next.

Road test went great. Then again it did the first time, too. Then it sprung a leak. This is new hose though so I'll be fine.

It drives nice. Trans shifts super smooth, steering is direct and great, and the stereo is good.

Still need to add my 1/2 qt of Dexron VI at some point but not an emergency.

Well it took 1-1/2 quarts. Also something is still leaking from the front but I have no idea what. Hopefully not trans fluid still. My repair seems to be holding up fine. If there is a leak I suspect it is at the line that runs from the trans to the cooler hose. Could be rusted where there is a retaining bracket, though the rest of the line looks pretty damn good. But they like to rust where there is constant contact with stuff.

I hope that's not the issue but that could explain why it took 1-1/2 quarts which was more than I was expecting. I should check the oil and power steering levels. Seems like just about everything is leaking actually....there is even some green goo on the A/C compressor which doesn't bode well. If I am not mistaken the A/C is not as cold as it used to be. Oy. Too few cars is bad but too many is also bad because of all the sitting. With COVID we barely need even 2 cars these days...

Most of the cooler line is 1/2" OD so I'd need 1/2" ID trans cooler hose. I am still not sure it's actually still leaking. Maybe I should just drive it. But the front tires are sketchy...needs lower control arms, tires and alignment.

I haven't been driving this car much. But I'm not sure these lines are leaking. I may just do my half front suspension overhaul and start driving it again because if it is leaking I want to fix it before the winter, which is when I will be relying on this car.

I think it's coolant. Of course there's no easy way to check trans fluid level so for all I know that's leaking, too but I don't see any evidence of a leak at this time. I do, however, see the level dropping in the coolant pressure tank. I think that's what the stuff on the ground was way back after I completed the trans cooler repair. I guess that's a different thread.

Checked the transmission fluid. It actually wasn't low which means it isn't leaking - that is, if it didn't need any in 6 months means no leaks. I added a tiny bit as it was dribbling out but it started dribbling out before it even got up to temp so it's safe to say it needed none. This is good.
