Don't necessarily conflate the owner of a new SS with the actions of someone who, let's say, buys a 2005 Dodge Charger and puts black wheels on it. I would certainly expect the SS owner (being a new/late model) to make far fewer questionable decisions that result in permanent damage or other degradation of the vehicle.

I always thought these C63s sounded nice. This actually seems like a pretty good price too. I'll file this one in the "not sure if I dare" category.

I did drive one of these almost 10 years ago at an exotic car driving event and found it to be pretty fun. Not sure how I would feel about it today. The accessible torque compared with the E90 M3 does make it the more exciting daily driver, IMO.

Highest mileage Vsport I have seen so far: https://www.carmax.com/car/12985559

a 2014 base with 88k for $26,995 at CarMax. I have always thought their pricing wasn't that great, especially when you consider it's non-negotiable, and this is another data point supporting that.

Is $19k enough savings over a ~$25k Vsport?

Probably not enough to tempt me into gambling, but there are some things I like better about the C63, mainly the powertrain and the sound. It's also quicker than the Vsport (12.3 @ 116) and the seats are better.

Following up on the C63 thing, the reason I like it starts with the powertrain. Naturally, the next question would be "why not the SS then?" The SS is basically dead even with the Vsport in a straight line so although it sounds better there's really no significant performance advantage. Also, I think the steering feel is better in the C63 than the SS, although admittedly it's been a while since I drove a C63. If you get a 2012+ model with the MCT transmission, it doesn't have the head bolt issue and traps in the 117-120 range. That is significantly faster compared with a 110-ish car, like the Vsport or SS. Unfortunately, a 2012 C63 is going to cost at least as much as a good Vsport Premium or more in many cases. In the end, the Vsport Premium is probably still the best option, but it's not a bad thing to consider other options since I have time.

Same car still on craigslist. Now $17.9k. That's pretty damn cheap. Of course, you know what they say about a cheap Mercedes...

So out of place at a Toyota dealership.

What are they going to say about it?

"All the salesmen shit themselves when it started."
