BBB Industries made it a little harder to get in as they seem to be enforcing access per person how rather than the general link. I see two transmission TSBs.

1) Transmission fluid (Rondo takes something called SPIII ATF)
2) Trans adapt/relearn guide which would impact shift feel, not the noise

I feel like if this was GM there would be a boatload of helpful TSBs on this. Kind of disappointed.

Used transmissions in your area are available between $225 and $550 or so. 90 day warranties are common, and in fact is in place on that $225 one. Maybe you could put them out of business. Not sure what labor is but that could be a pretty easy book/flat rate quote just to know what the number is.

There is one with 221k for $300. Maybe go find the owner and interview them.

This is one with 29k for $550: https://cpprohomeoh.car-part.com/image? ... 3%20PA6152

Yeah, I feel like there is such a limited following for Kia, especially people who even do maintenance at all who care about these types of things.

Well the TSB is for the dealer. In fact in GM TSBs they pretty much have a boilerplate disclaimer for DIY folks who may have obtained a copy. Semi-informed customers getting a hold of TSBs is pretty much a huge pain in the ass for dealers.

I just talked to the independent transmission shop - $575 to install a junkyard transmission. This actually might not be a terrible option.

If the sale price difference lets you recoup 50% of the cost in increased resale value, but gets it sold quick, that might be worth it.

And the Rondo is gone...

That was easier than putting a transmission in it.

Yes, reducing the price was a quicker fix.
