Yeah - it may be mileage / number of temp cycles / load/vehicle weight (higher load/temps) based. A low mileage S550 manifold is probably less likely to be cracked than a high mileage GLS.

I think it's prudent to get them out and inspect and then make a plan.

Also on applications that require dropping the engine, how many people would roll the dice with a used part if they are also paying labor?

The oldest M278 is from 2012 I think (M157 debuted in 2011). That's 14+ years. And plenty have 6 digit mileage. The fact that a used turbo is STILL that cheap does give me some confidence. Like, I'm choosing to interpret it that way....

Incidentally you also have one of the later applications of it (2019 X166 being the last that I know of in fact). In all the cars, the M278/M157 was gone by 2018, and earlier in several cases. But that doesn't provide a guarantee against problems.

The replacement engine family, M176/M177 is hot V and they are pretty easy as they are right on top. But a bunch of other stuff is a much bigger PITA.

How do you *.pdf out of the virtual machine for WIS docs? I was trying to pull down the engine removal procedure and turbocharger remove/install. I can view, but only *.xps, and I don't remember how to move files from the virtual machine to the real machine.

Ah yes. I actually in the past had moved the files out as XPS and converted on the other side. But I got tired of that so I downloaded CutePDF for windows 7 and installed it on the VM.

To get files out you literally drag and drop (VM needs to be a window first).

Your GLA45 uses the M133, FWIW.

Seems like adjusting for closed and tight around -12 to -14 is where you want to be.
Another M133 video. Apparently he recently replaced his turbo.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-EN9YLpOAU

He is in CT.

Apparently the international tracking no longer shows for usps? Weird.

Parts came in. Valves are smaller than I thought, and there is slightly more clearance in the bushings/shafts than I expected. Otherwise look OK.
