I can tell you all 89 Caprice sedans were fuel injected (the 4.3 V6 was fuel injected back to 1985 or so but those are uncommon). I think the wagon got the 4bbl 307 until 1990 inexplicably. But that 89 is probably the L03 (TBI 305). The 3rd gen F-body used that same air cleaner even when they had TBI. As did the 90-92 Brougham. Just the way GM did it before moving to a more modern air cleaner housing. They really meant it when they said TBI was the most cost effective way to do EFI right after everything used a carb.

F41! If this was somehow an L05 car, this would be the civilian B-body performance sedan of the 80s. F41 impressed many auto journalists in the 80s. Think of it like FE3 today.

I know, and dual power seats with recliners. You couldn't even get power recliners on the 91-96 Caprice.

The car is really awesome except for one thing: the L03.

GU4 is 3.08. That is literally the nicest, and sportiest civilian boxy b-body you could get.

My latest summary of why:
1) Not so old that its stock performance is a total joke
2) Not so new that it is too expensive to purchase
3) Not so new that I am way over my head in maintenance and repair - good amount of enthusiast support, surprising availability of BMW replacement parts. Some aftermarket support of things that commonly break.
4) Great size, appearance and features
5) Good handler for the size - I like big cars but I typically prefer more buttoned down and firm ride/handling
6) 12 other reasons
