Because the GLA isn't smaller inside probably.

The larger trunk is appealing. I also still don't know what to think of driveline durability for the 9G tronic vs. the dual clutch

I did not like the packaging of the second generation GLC. But I have never sat in a first generation GLC. It would be unusual if the first generation was larger.

We specifically talked about storage space many months ago and you rightfully concluded then that you don't have to have the biggest everything vehicle when you have other vehicles that are large. As far as transmissions I haven't really seen anything that would make me scared of the DCT. If anything it would be more of a drivability preference.

The trunks not a make-or-break thing, just interesting if it's less $ and a better trans (not sure) I'd like the bigger trunk I guess.

Not sure what to make of listings yet. Appear to be slightly less $ for year/mileage than a GLA.

2015, 85k mi, $9k - white w/ brown interior. I believe all of my must have options (bixenon, sunroof, larger screen). Does not appear to have keyless go.

It is in the NYC area and therefore could be a hunk of crap. I think I could go look at it / buy it Friday morning. I called but went straight to a goofy voicemail.

They called me right after they opened. Per discussion with them there are no additional dealer fees on top of the $8995 and they could give me the title if I showed up with a cashier's check. I think I'm going to head there with the car trailer Friday morning.

Car was a basket case other than running and driving ok. Potentially some oil in the coolant. 3 separate engine codes and light was on. Tire pressure monitor communication error. Interior was just ok. Grill was falling out of the front bumper.

On my way now to look at a gla45 in east Windsor nj.

The $8900 advertised gla45 is really $10900. 174k mi I think. I haven’t test driven yet, but we looked it over on the lift in the dealership here and everything looked good. I think I’m going to try to make a deal for less than $10900 and probably take it if it drives ok. Only codes were transmission fluid change needed, grounded mute button and something else stupid.

Last code was historic - seat control low voltage / out of range in the history.
