The ad expired. Guess we're keeping it.
Re: Wife's new car (2008 Cadillac SRX)
Tried to upgrade the SRX's OnStar module (VCIM) to a 2012 Impala that has integrated Bluetooth. The DTS crowd says it works.

Admittedly, this isn't a DTS.
When I try to initiate pairing, it just says "please see your vehicle owners manual on how to access bluetooth."
The Tech 2, once set for a 2012 Impala, can see the module and even that it has BT.

That's a....small sub. Actually reminds me of the third gen F-body BOSE sub setup.
This is the original module. It is supplied by Continental. The Impala module with BT was supplied by LG.

Ordered this:

Going for a less integrated solution but this should work. Only hitch is I want to retain the other BT receiver for music as it's fancy. I will try the Y cable. If two inputs sounds bad or something doesn't work, I'll reassess.

Re: Wife's new car (2008 Cadillac SRX)
It works but the Y cable doesn't. For now I have to unplug my BT receiver from the car aux-in port, plug the BT handsfree device directly into the car aux-in, and I can take/make calls through the audio system. Definitely not the final setup but it's a start.
Re: Wife's old car (2008 Cadillac SRX)
Two pieces of good news. First, and more importantly, it passed inspection. They gave it a sticker with no fanfare. Here's the proof:
Second, I finally opened the replacement CANdi module and tried it on the SRX to see if it had comms with all modules on the low speed LAN. It did! It also passed the self tests that the other one failed.
Adam and Ed are welcome to take the old one apart to see if there is any physical evidence of failure on the old one, but the new one is packed in the case. I wrote "Bad" on the old one.

And sold in 6 days. For asking price.
8 years of ownership. Brought our youngest home from the hospital on it. Here are the final shots.
Delivered it with a full tank of 93, and $250 worth of stuff (18 qts GC, front stabilizer bushings and 3 M1-206A filters). He had a 2018 Alfa Stelvio which he says has been good and his wife drive's a 2016 GL450. Does NOT do his own work.
