Ranger A/C

I vacuumed the Ranger's A/C system and then charged with about 25oz of R-134a. The system actually had 15 psi in it and I haven't charged it for years.

While moving, and turning the fan speed down, I saw vent temps as low as 40F which is pretty good. I then adjusted the low pressure switch screw 1/2 turn counterclockwise. It can get below 40 now. I will have to try in warmer weather to see for sure.

It doesn't take much to cool the cabin anyway.

After only a week, vent temps struggle to get into the upper 40s, even after the low pressure switch adjustment. So the switch is either acting up (doubt it) or it is leaking pretty quickly (probably). Guess I'll have to do some O-rings and stuff if I really want it to work.

After driving it with A/C I have to say it would be worth fixing but maybe that'll be something for next year. The Ranger is slow and has no interior space or other features. A/C is the only thing it really has...

I suppose I could have put dye in there. I still can.
