6-speed manual with a turbo-4 cyl isn't good enough?

If the turbo 4 was the 2.0L Ecotec, I might get a bit more excited. I guess the updated 1.4 isn't bad for a base engine though.

The performance version of this will need to compete with the Focus RS with 325HP and torque vectoring allowing I think up to 70% of the power to the rear. The bar is very high in the hatch sport segment. The base will compete with the Mazda3 which is a 10Best winner regularly. I hope Chevy is ready to go all in with this car because there is a lot of competition in this segment and I don't like to see Chevy lose. I also think that Chevy/GM could use some credibility in the small to mid-sized car market. They seem to have excelled in the V8 realm (Sports cars and Trucks), but I would like to see some enthusiast small to mid sized cars.

By the way, the latest power estimate for the Focus RS is now 350 HP.

If I still lived in a climate where AWD mattered, I think I would kind of want one too.

I would possibly want one in addition to a RWD V8 vehicle, but absolutely never in place of one.

I wouldn't pick this over a V8 RWD, but it would be a very fun daily.

Good point.
