Does this matter?
Scion is dead
Re: Scion is dead
It does if you want to buy a nice used FRS in a few years.
Re: Scion is dead
A reduction in FR-S/BRZ supply to the market will not be a good thing for used values from the buyer's perspective. Looking back on it, I am very glad I didn't swap my Elise for a BRZ for even money back when the BRZ came out. Now I think I could almost get two BRZs for the value of my Elise. I was hoping they would sell enough BRZs and FR-Ss that they would become like the Miata or 240SX from the early 90s: a cheap, reliable, available RWD car for the masses.
Re: Scion is dead
Is Subaru continuing the BRZ? If not, you might want to buy two of them now.
Re: Scion is dead
Looks like Scion models will live on as Toyotas. Ebay sellers of FT-86 badges for the FR-S are going to be pissed.

When is this car going to become interesting?
Re: Scion is dead
To you? Right after you put an LS in it.kevm14 wrote:When is this car going to become interesting?
Re: Scion is dead
Maybe I mean interesting powertrains. There just might be something they can put in from the factory that isn't an LS. Amazing.
Re: Scion is dead
The UZ family V8 is fairly compact for being DOHC. If you want to keep a Subaru powertrain, maybe the flat 6? Probably not, as it is not small.kevm14 wrote:Maybe I mean interesting powertrains. There just might be something they can put in from the factory that isn't an LS. Amazing.
Re: Scion is dead
I meant a realistic engine that they'd actually ship the car with.
