He sort of implied if you keep it under 3,000 rpm, it would be OK. Still, look at this engine and then tell me with a straight face that diesel engines are simple and will therefore run for hundreds of thousands of miles with little maintenance. That is bullshit. You can easily, EASILY get 300k out of a gas engine in 2016 if you actually want to drive the car for that long.
