Just throwing some numbers together to get a rough estimate:

Car - $2,700 - http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/5478320471.html
engine - $600 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-SILVERADO-15 ... 1K&vxp=mtr
Trans - $1,100 + unspecified core fee - http://www.ebay.com/itm/4L80E-1999-2009 ... yQ&vxp=mtr
9 in Rear - $900 if you want it in a G-Body! I need to learn more about this to get a good price to do in a CTS. http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-Inch-Ford-G-B ... 0w&vxp=mtr
MATT SLOPPY MECH HAPPEL Turbo Kit Special - $868.00
Tune - $500 need this due to electric trans.
Mounts -
driveshaft - 129 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-02-03-04-05- ... BY&vxp=mtr
accessory relocation -
injectors -
fuel pump -
gauges?

So, $6,797 + unspecified core fee without the missing info.

Based on this, if you could buy a wrecked Chevy 2500 or 3500 for less than $2,800 you would have the engine, trans, rear and drive shaft.

What you really want is a van since they are worth considerably less than pickups.

And a Monte. I just don't think I could really get into this car. and a lot of the work is the same either way, except there are fabricated parts for the Monte which may actually make it easier. You could say "yeah, but how original is that?", but it isn't like there are a million of these driving around.

And, on a first build, maybe I am not ready for "original".

The housing doesn't include a carrier or a gear set, just the housing and axles (and some bushings/bearings).

Yeah, one thing at a time.
