http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forum...ad.php?t=79621I did a lq9/4l80e in my marauder.
http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-h ... n-vic.htmlOnly documented panther ls swap I know of. Used fox conversion engine mounts and a flipped and modified panther xmember. Reyoked factory driveshaft for the 4l80e splines and made a custom dash.
http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-h ... p-car.htmlAfter spending 10 years driving around in those patrol cars (and some other ones we don't like to talk about - Dodge Diplomats ) and some that were sweeeeeeet (LT1 powered Caprices) I can tell you without a doubt that those 4.6 motors don't have **** for bottom end power and I could definitely see a Cobra style supercharger being an awesome (and stealthy) way to go......don't get me wrong, an LSx transplant would be bitchin' and fun and mighty powerful, but when the car already has HD everything built in it, why not just go with what we all (sadly) know works and that is the Cobra tricks from 2003-2004?

Functional A/C, Power steering, all stock insturments as well.
Should be a sleeper! lol.
11.8 @ 113 with the old full bolt on 2V setup, blew it up, decided I wanted to go faster, so I got a junkyard 5.3, and started to put stuff together.
Stock rotating assembly 2000 suburban motor 180K, ARP head bolts, cam, Lunati springs. TH400 trans, 76mm master power, E85, and a whole ####load of boost and timing.
http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-h ... n-vic.htmlI'm not for sure what year exactly without looking, but from early '00 or so onward, things get much more difficult. On those newer Panther's, the insturment cluster received all the engine data via the CAN network from the PCM. I have read where people have suggested leaving the stock Ford ECU up and running, and then using the stock Ford sending units on the LS motor still, this way the Ford ECU still sends the data to the Cluster. However, there will be side effects from this such as a check engine light, possible ABS light, Tach inop?
